By Samson Opus The inter-schools taekwondo championship will now become an annual event after the inaugural event impressed many. Seven companies promised the organisers future support. Inaugural tournament co-ordinator was Jaffrey Nursery and Primary School headteacher Visala Sheikh. “Taekwondo is good for both physical and mental development so we would like to have it annually,” she said. Pepsi Cola, Roofings, Delux Printer, Gulf Africa, Meera Stationers, House of Sports and Jaffrey Forex Bureau sponsored the martial arts event. Jaffrey Nursery and PS hosted the infants show that saw Daffadils emerge top last week. Hosts Jaffrey took second place with 263 points while Agakhan PS - Kololo was third with 109 points. The competition that involved kids aged between 4-7 drew 110 participants. Five year-old Krishna Shukla, of Kabojja International School was voted outstanding player after exhibition of skills infront of a mammoth crowd. ends
