By Davis Weddi and Herbert Sempogo THE Police are investigating the parentage of two Swedish children recently found in the custody of a Ugandan woman facing fraud charges. Jalia Nalumansi Magoba claims to be their mother. The four-year-old twins, David and Derrick, are being looked after by Inspector Dorothy Awori at her Nsambya barracks home. The Police have appealed to the public for information and said they would go to the Swedish Embassy for help. Magoba appeared in Buganda Road Court on Friday. She allegedly failed to pay over sh8m to Nile Hotel. The money was accumulated when she stayed there with her three children, including the twins and two maids for three weeks. Magoba was remanded to Luzira on Monday with her seven-month-old baby girl. The Police said Magoba, on July 11, reported that her boyfriend, Frank Kabagambe, had refused to support her and their triplets at their home in Muyenga. Awori said she was finding problems feeding the children as they could not eat any local dishes. “They only accept soda and cakes and can’t speak any language apart from Swedish. It is really difficult to cater for them, I have so far spent sh25,000 for their food,” Awori said. Hellen Aliek, head of the Child and Family Protection Unit, said Magoba claimed she had returned from Sweden three days earlier. Police spokesman Eric Naigambi said Magoba gave the Police contradicting information. “We summoned Kabagambe who denied having triplets with Magoba. “He sent his sister to check with Magoba but was told their grandmother had the triplets,” Awori said. Magoba claims her children’s father is a Swede in Sweden. Ends
