SIR—I am irked by the current war of words ranging on between Members of Parliament, Maj John Kazoora and Maj-Gen Elly Tumwine. It is a big shame that instead of making meaningful debates, what we get in front-page stories and cartoons is their verbal artillery inside Parliament. Although the two enjoy privileges inside Parliament, they shouldn't forget that they should strive to prove that they deserve the title "honourable". On the other hand, I personally blame Maj Kazoora who seems to be determined to remain a sworn enemy of his “brother” Tumwine. The unforgivable sin Tumwine allegedly committed is that he supported Kazoora's rival in the recent elections. By the fact that he won the elections, Kazoora should have relieved his mind of any bitter feelings, leaving the other side with the bitterness of a loser. It is therefore ironical to find that even after winning, Kazoora has remained with a poisoned mind and instead of forgiving his former "enemies", he is determined to keep showing them the bitter part of his tongue. The scene he made at the swearing-in when Elly Tumwine, seemingly offering a hand of reconciliation to him, was 'spat' in the face. This was a very bad image. We expect Parliament to be a place of nation-building but not a frontline for vendetta. Justus Muhanguzi, Kampala
