India XI 128/10, UCA 132/4
TENDO Mbazzi claimed a career best five wickets for 30 runs as UCA X1 cruised over India select X1 by six wickets in a match to celebrate the 54th Independence anniversary of India at Lugogo.
The festival match was also attended by the acting India High Commissioner in Uganda Gulzal Singh, alongside other dignitaries.
Mbazzi (5/30) bowled economically and intelligently to dismiss five vital batsmen including Masood Ali (23), Keyur Patel (11), Baig Akbar (08), Ali Abbas (21) and Nand Kishore (00) in succession.
Kenneth Kamyuka (3/41) could not spare his club captain Nehal Bibodi whom he trapped (leg before wicket) for only three runs after staying on the pitch for nine minutes.
The Indian side looked dead and buried in the first twenty overs managing a fluctuating 93/7 only to be all out for a paltry 128 runs in 40 overs all falling to Mbazzi and Kamyuka (3/41).
Kamyuka, Mbazzi and Ssematimba, who grabbed the man of the match, best bowler and best batsman awards respectively were at the prize giving ceremony.
