CAF has reminded the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) not to recommend former FIFA referee Ben Matovu for 2002 CAF list.

By Leo Kabunga and James Bakama CAF has reminded the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) not to recommend former FIFA referee Ben Matovu for 2002 CAF list. FUFA secretary Godfrey Kisekka yesterday said that CAF had advised Uganda and other national associations not to recommend incompetent referees on CAF list. He said CAF referees committee chaired by Somali Farah Addo disproves Matovu’s competence. Addo and CAF president Issa Hayatou while on a visit in May, watched Matovu mess up a Nile Special Super League game between Express and Makasa LC at Namboole. FIFA, the world soccer governing body has meanwhile, dispatched to FUFA nomination documents for 2002 referees. In the meantime, Sportsman Kakungulu Cup entrants yesterday received balls at BAT Uganda headquarters in Kampala. r UGANDA Revenue Authority (URA) yesterday became the first team to qualify for this year’s Western Region Super Mini League. URA, which this season transferred from central region, grabbed one of Zone Six’s three berths after whipping Ibanda 6-0 in Rukungiri. Ends
