Mr. Kibirige Sebunya the state minister for agriculture, has defended the riches acquired by Banyankole arguing that they work harder, compared to the Baganda.
He said the argument that Museveni gave the Banyankole riches is not true since they have been working hard for long.
Sebunya was on Saturday addressing farmers at the annual general meeting of Igara growers’ Tea factory at Kyamuhunga in Bushenyi, recently. Kibirige hailed them for the good work done to develop the country.
“Most Ugandans especially the Baganda have ignored agriculture and opted to look smart all the time. This has deprived them of income, hence the reason they accuse the Banyankole of having developed because of Museveni,†Sebunya said.
He said many people need prayers because they don’t have anything to sell. “Its surprising that 2001 years after the birth of Christ, we still have people who believe in getting rich when they don’t workâ€, he said.
