Wife flogged

A man in Kawempe recently seriously flogged his wife after another man sent her greetings on radio. Swaibu of Kawempe is an ardent listener of news and entertainment and so it was no surprise that he was listening to Nina's programme in the evening. However while enjoying the music, some man called in, and said he wanted to send greetings to his kyana and the descriptions he gave were that of Swaibu's wife. The enraged Swaibu immediately summoned his wife to explain and despite her pleas that it was a workmate of hers joking around, Swaibu was neither amused nor convinced. In no time he had descended upon her with blows, accusing her of wanting to kill him so she could give another man his property. Neighbours who came to help were chased away by Swaibu who accused those trying to help her of being the ones encouraging such behaviour. He was overpowered and taken to an LC court. Ends
