Akika In Illinois, USA

By Davis Weddi EX-MINISTER Akika Othieno (pictured) is reported to be in Illinois in the United States of America where he fled after jumping court bail in Tororo. Sources at CID headquarters yesterday said they were trying to find out the address where Akika is residing. “Our informers have said that Akika is in Illinois in the United States. We are now trying to establish if he had acquired another passport under different names. If so, it will be a difficult job to go for him,” said the source. Akika was reported missing early this month after he jumped court bail. Police said his sureties (names withheld) were to be closely monitored and had been advised to abide by the court regulations. Akika is accused of attempting to murder Engineer Olowo on polling day for the parliamentary elections. He was also accused of pointing his pistol at the district vice chairman Osuna, on the eve of polling day. Ends
