West Ankole Diocese Opens Centre

GERMAN deputy ambassador Dagma Wildberger on Saturday commissioned the West Ankole Diocese Mothers’ Union Training Centre at Katungu in Bushenyi town.

By Raynel Kanyambu Ebenezer Bifubyeka GERMAN deputy ambassador Dagma Wildberger on Saturday commissioned the West Ankole Diocese Mothers’ Union Training Centre at Katungu in Bushenyi town. The project, worth sh180m comprises of a main hall, dinning hall, a-36-room hostel, kitchen and lecture rooms. About 75% of the cost was contributed by a German NGO, EZE organisation. The Mothers’ Union contributed 25% of the cost. The new building will serve Ntungamo and Bushenyi districts. Commenting on this 13-year old project that ended mid this year, Wildberger said she had hope that the centre would enhance the work of God in the district and the country at large. “I hope you members of this union will emphasise accountability,” she said. The bishop of West Ankole Diocese, William Magambo, asked her to extend appreciation to EZE. The president of West Ankole Diocese, Mrs. Mary Mujinya, thanked Mrs. Beatrice Bamunoba, wife to the retired bishop of the diocese, Yoramu Bamunoba, for initiating the project by seeking assistance from EZE organisation.
