By Darious Magara THE president of the National Farmers Association (UNFA), Mr. Chebet Maikut, last week intervened in wrangles between members of Kabale District Farmers Association (KADFA), who split into two groups. Some of the farmers wrote to donors of the association asking them to withhold funds until the wrangles are resolved. KADFA is funded by DANIDA and USAID among others. Chebet, who was accompanied by the association secretary general, Mr. Nelson Mutebi Kityo, met the farmers at the private sector hall in Kabale hoping to diffuse the tension. Kityo advised the farmers against writing to donors about their local differences as it would prompt them to withhold funds.
