NATIONAL junior champion Stephen Kawuma leaves on Saturday for the All Africa Chess championship where he will compete for a top cash prize of US $4000 (sh7m) in Cairo, Egypt starting September 16.
NATIONAL junior champion Stephen Kawuma leaves on Saturday for the All Africa Chess championship where he will compete for a top cash prize of US $4000 (sh7m) in Cairo, Egypt starting September 16. Kawuma is already assured of US $750 (sh1.3m) which is the men’s appearance fee while Catherine Namutebi and Juliet Nakandi who will also make the trip will earn $200 (sh0.35m) each as participation fee. The s winner will bag $1800.
