Zittel right on FUFA

Sir- Last week, the German technical adviser Gunter Zittel promised never to work with the existing FUFA executive. I fully back his decision. For the past years, FUFA has often used coach failure as a key factor to its dismal performance. If Zittel can realise how difficult it is to operate with the Obua lot then to some extent I really think Okagbue’s failures were partially inspired by the current federation. Infact, this body should be completely disbanded to save the country from the embarasment. The State minister for sports, Henry Oryem sounded pretty too when he called on the federation to get more serious. It’s good news that Mr. Oryem has realised how corrupt, incompetent and stunted Obua’s leadership has been. With the ambitious Oryem in place, the extant Constitutional Review Committee should be thrown out and honest people instilled in the financial department for the benefit of the soccer fraternity. This can only be achieved if the Minister can move more swiftly and aggressively otherwise the country is not ready to stomach any more. Otherwise, when will we ever get rid of this mess?
