PostBank Uganda, one of the leading banks with the largest network in Uganda, with international connections and over 70 Post Office service points is seeking for new members with high degree of initiative and development to join its team. Our aim is to serve customers from all social levels countrywide and to enhance our contribution to the financial sector and the economic and social development of the country by mobilising savings through developing a payment system. Our team of highly motivated employees is seeking for new members to fill the following vacancies. 1. Title of Post:Chief Manager Marketing (1 posts) PBU/CMM/14 Will report to the Managing Director and form part of the managing team. The person will head the Customers Service, Sales and Planning and Product Development departments. . Responsibilities: • Develop, implement and maintain a plan to ensure that customers are kept informed of the range of products and services available and the performance and quality of services offered by PostBank • Carry out field and desk research on the bank products, services, market, image and any other areas as may be required. • Develop, test, launch and monitor new products or improve existing products. • Formulate and implement marketing strategies that should enhance optimum rules reviewed for all goods and services produced by the bank. • Undertake market research activities, get and analyse customer feed back and advise management on the forward Marketing strategies to be adopted by the bank. • Undertake competition intelligence analysis and advise management on the competitive strategies to be adopted by the bank. The Person 1. Should have Masters degree in Commerce, Marketing or Business Administration and/or CIM membership. 2. At least three years experience in banking. 3. Have excellent data analysis and interpersonal skills 4. Innovative and creative thinker. 5. Confident with a positive personality and attitude 6. Result and customer oriented 7. Should be commercially aware 8. Good presentation and sales skills. 2. Title of Post: Chief Manager Inspectorate (1 post PBU/CMI/15 Will report to the Managing Director and form part of the managing team. The position is to review and appraise the performance of the existing systems with a view to improving them and updating them. Responsibilities: • Initiate and formulate Audit manual for PostBank, which include designing appropriate auditing guidelines to be followed. • Advise the Managing Director and other members of management on the best course of action on any contentious matter. • Assist in the proper interpretation and thereafter application of various documents which PostBank may get from supervisory authorities. • Be an integral part of the internal control system of the bank and on a continuous basis evaluate the internal control system in place and advise on its adequacy in achieving organisational goals. The person 1. Should have a Masters degree in Accounting or Business Administration plus professional qualification of ACCA, CPA, ICMA 2. At least three years banking experience 3. Must be computer literate with capacity to use one of the required computerised accounting packages and possess spread sheet skills for financial modeling 4. Have high level of integrity and sense of confidentiality 5. Excellent report writing skills 6. Knowledge of statutory law and regulations 7. Ability to express oneself orally 8.Keen on detail and able to initiate work 3. Title of post: Senior Audit Officer one (1 Post) Ref PBU/SAO/09 This is a Senior Position and will report to the Chief Manager Inspectorate and its purpose is to ensure proper functioning of the Bank procedures and to ensure adherence to generally accepted auditing practices as well as enforcing the banks financial regulations. Responsibilities: • Ensure that current and future financial and management systems conform to regulations and professional and accounting requirements. • Report on weakness or failure to comply with procedures and propose remedial action. • Carry out regular random audits of PostBank Uganda Cash. • Prepare and carry out programs for full audit coverage of departments of the bank. • Report all examinations or audits to Chief Manager, and departmental heads as appropriate. • Supervise and guide staff in the section especially in as far as their audit programs are concerned. • In conjunction with the head of Department and Human Resources Manager, recruit and develop audit staff. The Person: • Should have a degree in Accounting or Business Administration plus part or full professional qualification of ACCA, CPA ICMA. • At least have 3 years Audit experience • Must be computer literate with capacity to use one of the recognized computerized Accounting packages and possess spread sheet skills for financial modeling. • High level of integrity and sense of confidentiality. • Excellent report writing skills. • Ability to express oneself orally. 4. Title of post: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1 Post) Ref PBU/MEO/16 This is a Senior Position and will report to the Manager Branch Banking. Its purpose is to assist the manager in the day-to-day operational activities. Responsibilities: • Monitor the Accounts of the Bank. • Monitor information flow between the Branches and the Head office. • Monitor all cheques in Transit. • Supervise and Monitor all Suspense Accounts of the Bank. The Person: • Should have a degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Physics or Maths • Knowledge and experience in Bank operations will be an added Advantage. • Must be computer literate. • Excellent oral and Communication skills. 5. Title of post: Corporate Relations Officer (1 Post) Ref PBU/CRO/13 This is a Senior position and will report to the Chief Manager Marketing and its purpose is to manage the day to day operational relationships of our corporate clients. Responsibilities: • Manage relationships of corporate PostBank. • Ensure clients corporate accounts are timely updated. • Attend to client’s complaints and where necessary take them up with the relevant departments. • Maintain all PostBank Corporate Clients files. The Person: • Should have a degree in Business Administration, with a bias in Marketing. • Knowledge and experience in Bank operations will be an added Advantage. • Must be computer literate. • Excellent oral and Communication skills. • Strong Customer Relations Background. 6.Title of Post: Accounts Officer (Reconciliation) One Post Ref No PBU/AOR/12 Will report to the Senior Accountant in the Finance & Treasury Department. He will provide assistance to the Senior Accountant in running the Reconciliation Section Responsibilities: • Reconciling the Uganda Post Limited Accounts with the PostBank accounts • Prepare and file monthly reconciled reports. • Ensuring that the transactions carried out are rightly posted and if not, correct the errors. • Prepare reports on the reconciled accounts The Person • Should have a commerce degree with a bias in Accounting. • Have two or three years experience in supervisory duties in a busy commercial environment. • Should have good interpersonal relations for effective communication. • Should be self-motivated and have the ability to work under minimum Supervision. • A committed team player • Should be computer literate • Should have high standards of integrity and honesty. 7.Title of Post: Systems Administrator (One Post) Ref No PBU/SA/11 Will report to the Chief Manager Operations in the Operations Department. He will assist users as well as be responsible for the management of our infrastructure. Responsibilities: • Develop a MIS Policy. • In conjunction with relevant external consultants, develop a management information system for PostBank. • Create and manage the Banks information centers (hard copy and electronic) • Liaise with other departments of the Bank and design, develop and implement application and utility systems for the Bank. • Analyze available computerized business systems and recommend to Management the most appropriate business systems for acquisition. • Provide proper technical expertise, planning and scheduling of the information resource section. • Develop and support the Banks Business Systems. The Person • Should have a degree in Science with a bias in Computer Science or Information Technology • Post graduate qualifications in Computer Science/Business Information Systems or IT will be an added Advantage. • Experience in operating Systems, software installation and computer Hardware maintenance. • Three years experience in a busy computer maintenance company 8. Title of Post: Audit Officer (2 Positions) Ref No PBU/A0/10 Will report to the Senior Audit Officer in the Inspectorate Department. They will provide assistance to the Senior Audit Officer in the running of the Audit Section. Responsibilities: • Auditing and reconciliation of the cash counter reports. • Auditing all non cash transactions of the bank including money orders cheques money transfers, TT’s • Ensuring successful physical stock taking exercises and verification of stock figures • Ensure the accuracy of financial statements of the Bank • Assisting in the proper interpretation and thereafter application of various documents which Post Bank may get from Supervisory Authorities • Ensure proper records of all inventories and stocks figures. The Person. • Should have a degree in Accounting or Business Administration • At least have 1 year’s Audit experience • Must be computer literate with capacity to use one of the recognized computerized Accounting packages. • Have good report writing skills • Keen on detail. 9. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY - ONE (1) POST REF NO. PBU/ES/07 Will report to the Managing Director and will ensure that all secretarial services and other requirements pertaining to the proper running of the Managing Director’s office are adequately handled and fulfilled. Responsibilities: • Fulfilling all the secretarial duties as required by the Managing Director and heads of department. • Ensuring the smooth running of the office and programmes by coordinating appointments, travel arrangements etc. • Ensuring safe custody of all Managing Director’s office machines, equipment, and documents under her care. • Organizing and coordinating meetings. • Responsible for receiving visitors/clients and responding appropriately to inquiries from persons who seek to meet the Managing Director. The Person • Should have a diploma in Secretarial Studies. Any other qualifications will be an added advantage • Should be computer literate • Should have demonstrable writing skills • Have a minimum of 2 years in secretarial work in a busy organization • Have high integrity and a sense of confidentiality • A very organized individual with a positive attitude • Self driven, pleasant personality and willingness to work odd hours • Highly motivated with a lot of personal initiative. 10. Title of post: BANKING OFFICERS - 12 POSITIONS REF PBU/BO/05 These positions will be spread over the PostBank network and will report to the Branch Manager in the Operations department. They will generally coordinate and oversee operations of the bank outlets to ensure cost effective achievements of set goals. Responsibilities: • Enhancing customer service • Ensuring timely submission of returns to Head Office • Proper maintenance of bank books in accordance with accounting systems and procedures in place • Ensuring that cashiers are balancing and are checked on a daily basis • In conjunction with the Branch Manager, ensure that the vault is well managed under the dual control system • And other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time. The Person: • Should have a first degree in Arts, Social Science or Science disciplines. • Have two or three years experience in supervisory duties in a busy commercial environment. • Should have good interpersonal relations for effective communication. • Should be self-motivated and have the ability to work under minimum Supervision. • A committed team player. Should have high standards of integrity and honesty. 11. Title of post: BANKING ASSISTANTS (TELLERS)- (13 POSITIONS) PBU/BA/06 They will directly report to the Banking Officer in the respective branches they will be posted to. They will be required to enhance good personal relations and Bank image by giving friendly and efficient service to all Bank customers. Responsibilities • Provide information to customers about Bank products and services • Receiving cash for banking from customers • Proper identification of customers • Proper scrutiny of customers’ documents e.g. passbook against existing bank documents • Ensuring that proper amounts are posted in the bank books and customers’ passbook • Levy the appropriate charges as per standing instructions • Paying out cash to the customers • Balancing of the day’s work The person • Should have a minimum of a diploma in Business, Marketing or any other related areas. • At least 2 years working experience in a busy environment working in a banking section will be an added advantage. • Ability to work long hours under pressure with minimum supervision • Should be honest and a committed team player 12.Title of post: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANTS - 4 POSTS REF PBU/AA/08 Will report to the Accounting Officer (Bank Reconciliation, Payments and Local Investments) and its purpose is to provide assistance to the Accounting Officer in the respective sections. Responsibilities: • Reconciliation of Corporate accounts in various banks • Reconciliation of the Dollar account • Preparing and/or checking payment vouchers • Posting of financial transactions into the computer system The Person • Should have a minimum of a diploma in Business Studies with a bias in Accounts. • Should be computer Literate • At least 2 years working experience in a busy commercial environment • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision • Demonstrate a high sense of integrity and honesty ALL POSITIONS • Successful candidates will be required to sign a 3-year Contract with the Bank. • They should be willing to work in any PostBank Office in the country.
