By Jossy Muhangi THE lawyers for Spencer Turwomwe who defeated the state minister for industry, Dr. Richard Nduhuura in an election petition have asked for sh107m as legal costs. Mr. Ngaruye Ruhindi, the lawyer who successfully represented Turwomwe, said he had presented his bill of costs amounting to about sh107m to the High Court registrar for taxation and approval. Meanwhile, Nduhuura’s lawyers have filed an appeal against the September 18 High Court ruling by Justice Kibuuka Musoke that set aside the Igara East parliamentary election results. The results were challenged following claims that Nduhuura voted twice contrary to the electoral law. Ruhindi said he was confident that the appeal by Nduhuura’s lawyers would not yield much. He said the High Court judgement had plugged all the possible loopholes that could warrant a challenge.
