Dipu (Mitsubishi Evo4) and Kaka Junior (Subaru Impreza) will be making their maiden appearance in their newly acquired machines. Crane Bank sponsored Dipu switching from a Toyota Celica ST 185 is optimistic his new car would do a good job. “I think it’s better, I will test it today (yesterday),” Dipu said. Dembe Rally Team’s Kaka whose powerful Subaru group A acquired from Kenyan Fazal Butt arrived in the country at the weekend will also be a hard nut to crack. Event favourite Moses Lumala (Toyota Celica ST 185) is expected back from Japan on Wednesday in time for the rally. The UMC organised rally that is the last NRC round on the FMU calendar is sponsored by Castrol Oil to the tune of sh60m. The event starts on Saturday with a super special stage at Kaazi and three night sections before the second leg that will cover Mukono and Mpigi the next day. Normal entries close on Wednesday shortly before the draw. Mehta group, Nile Breweries, MTN, Pepsi and Asiatic sport are co-sponsors of the rally. ends
