3 confirm Nations tournament

By Fred Nangoli SUDAN, Rwanda and Kenya yesterday became the first countries to confirm their participation in the East and Central Africa Volleyball Confederation (ECAVCO) Nations cup later this month in Kampala. The inaugural championship is scheduled for October 24-28 at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. Joseph Opio, general secretary of Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) said that Sudan Volleyball Federation had confirmed for the event. He said Kenya and Rwanda had indicated interest in the week-long tournament. Eleven other countries including Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Somalia, Djibouti and Zambia are yet to confirm. UVA official Anthony Ndaula said the ECAVCO meet would be the first of a kind in the regional. ends
