By Emmanuel Mulondo An outbreak of meningitis has been reported in Ruteete sub-county, Kabarole district. The district health services director, Dr. Kabagambe Rugamba confirmed the outbreak over the weekend. “There were some two suspected cases which were reported and we have confirmed one,” Kabagambe said. He could not readily identify the names of the victims but said they were at Buhinga Government Hospital. He said health officials were trying to find out which type of meningitis had broken out. “There is a type which spreads from one person to another. If it is the one, we have to immunise the resident,” he said. Kabagambe is compiling a report to forward to the ministry for health.
