SOS Children’s Villages is a worldwide child welfare organization that provides homes and educational opportunities to orphaned and abandoned children. It was established 50 years ago and currently runs Children’s Villages and other projects in more than 135 countries around the world. SOS Children’s Villages Uganda is affiliated to SOS Kinderdorf International, and has been working in Uganda since 1991. The first SOS Children’s Village was set up at Kakiri 25 km along Kampala-Hoima road, while a second one is under construction at Abayita Ababiri near Entebbe. Village Director We seek to recruit a socially stable, mature man aged between 35 and 40 years to take on the management of our new SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGE ENTEBBE. The Village Director’s responsibilities include: • Fulfilling the role of the Father figure and role-model for the children • Overseeing the educational and physical needs of the children • Planning and budgeting for project activities • Co-ordinating the administration and operations of the Village and other facilities • Providing support to the children and staff team. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, practical experience in management and proven leadership. He should also have a strong background in at least one of the following fields- education, social work, child psychology, or management. He should be a strong married family man, willing to live in the Children’s Village and ready to work for extended hours. The candidate will possess the emotional stability to lead and guide the young community, maintaining the required high standards while having the maturity to provide both love and discipline to a large and growing family.
