THE Police have issued traffic guidelines (see map) for the Independence Day celebrations and warned that cars found parked along the roads leading to Kololo will be towed to Jinja Road Police station.

By Herbert Ssempogo THE Police have issued traffic guidelines (see map) for the Independence Day celebrations and warned that cars found parked along the roads leading to Kololo will be towed to Jinja Road Police station. The Regional Traffic Officer Kampala Extra, Gabriel Tibayungwa, in a statement issued yesterday, said there will be enough parking space for invited guests for the 39th Independence celebrations at Kololo. Tibayungwa said motorists will access the main venue via Wampewo Avenue from Jinja Road. He said cars of distinguished guests and those with red stickers will access the venue from Elgon Terrace. Tibayungwa said cars with blue stickers will park near the entrance on Wampewo Avenue while those with red stickers will park beside the pavilion. He said Upper Kololo Terrace will be closed to the public from 7:00p.m. until the end of the function. The Police chief said Mabua Road, Prince Charles Drive and Elizabeth Avenue will be closed. He said motorists and the public should co-operate with traffic Police who will be deployed to ensure smooth flow of traffic. He said protocol will be observed especially for those arriving and departing. Ends
