‘Ensure health equity’

By Milton Olupot UGANDA Medical Association (UMA) has called on the Government to ensure health equity in the country, by spreading out healthcare resources to rural health centres. In an advocacy workshop under the theme “Health Equity” held at Hotel Africana recently, participants observed that most of the resources were concentrated at the Mulago referral hospital and the Ministry of Health headquarters. They also observed that some population groups have unfair access to healthcare, due to socio-economic differences.
