NILE Breweries Limited, through the Nile Special Lager brand, have earned over sh1b in a new promotion called “Special Reward promotion” intended to reward Ugandan’s for their effort and achievements in daily life, reports Emmy Olaki. The Nile Breweries general manager, Ronnie Madhvani, said the promotion is also intended to increase sales, market the product and stimulate demand which was affected when the Government increased excise duty on alcoholic products. “The beer market fell by between 15 and 18% but we hope to stimulate this demand again,” he said. Olive Lumonya, the Nile Special brand manager, said in the promotion, consumers will win beer, bicycles, radios and cars instantly. She said the number of cars will depend on how much beer will be consumed. “There is no limit on the number of cars to be won. It will depend on the consumption, but one car will be won each week. Just look under the crown of the bottle top and win instantly. There will be several other prizes,” Lumonya said. The promotion which started on Monday, was officially launched on Tuesday at the Nile Breweries offices in Luzira. Ends
