DELEGATES to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations assembly will be elected on November 2.

By Daniel Saire DELEGATES to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations assembly will be elected on November 2. The FUFA constitution provides for the elections of delegates, 60 days before the expiry of the three-year term of a current executive or 30 days before the elections of the president. The FUFA president is set to be elected on December 2. FUFA executive sits on Monday with the returning officer David Agong to draw up guidelines for the polls. Abbas Kaawaase, Twaha Kakaire, Michael Okiror, John Semanobe and Joseph Kaggwa intend to run against incumbent Dennis Obua. A source in FUFA told The New Vision that the Obua camp met at Nakulabye yesterday and picked a list of over 30 people to back during the grass-root elections. “We identified areas where there is opposition and drew up a list of our people to stand against them,” said the source. It was learnt that the camp singled out the North and Western Uganda as strong holds and planned to consolidate the support. It was also reported that the meeting talked out treasurer Hassan Galiwango from his earlier plans to stand against Obua. Meanwhile, Rubaga delegate Kennedy Mutenyo said he would not stand for re-elections. “It is not good to associate myself with people whose aim is not to develop football but fulfiling selfish interests,” he said. r In the NSSL, relegated side Tororo Rockstar failed to honour its Super League game against Chicago United at Nakivubo Stadium last evening. They will lose three points. ends
