SIR—I would like to congratulate all the aspirants for the East African Legislative Assembly. I have noted among them, some prominent women like Sheila Kawamara Mishambi. We graduated together as teachers from Makerere University and I have continued to follow her career development. If I was a voter, I would definitely give her my vote because this woman has continued to demonstrate leadership abilities and to offer her service to our country. When she was a journalist with the New Vision, I read almost all her stories and she showed a lot of courage, during the coverage of the Rwanda genocide.
recently, I have kept abreast with her work as a woman activist and many Ugandans, women and men alike, will agree with me that the work done by women like Kawamara have brought to light various inequalities in our societies.
With her kind of experience, Kawamara is definitely my candidate for the East African Assembly. Another worthy woman is Irene Odida.
