By John Eremu THE State minister for Ethics and Integrity, Miria Matembe, has opposed the re-development of the Constitutional Square and called for consultations beyond the city authorities. In a letter to mayor John Ssebaana Kizito, Matembe said she was not satisfied that the project would not adversely affect the only green belt with a historical monument in the city centre. “It seems to me that it would be better if you could discuss this matter with other government officials beyond the city council,” Matembe said in her letter. “I would not like to see a situation like the hotel on the Golf Course reoccurring. I believe it would be prudent for the city council to be equally concerned,” she said.
