By Allan Turyaguma THE Nkore Cultural Trust (NCT), the pro-Obugabe pressure group, has begun massive recruitment of the youth to champion the cause for the restoration of the monarchy in Ankole. Sources within the Trust said on Saturday that the recruitment was being done secretly in all parts of Ankole but declined to reveal how it was being carried out. “Currently the majority of NCT members are over 70 years of age, therefore the recruitment of the youth is a matter of necessity for the continuity of the association and the struggle for the restoration of the Obugabe,” the source said. The NCT chairman and premier of the former Ankole kingdom, James Kahigiriza, said the youth were paramount in the sustainability of the battle for the restoration of the kingdom. “I am now 80 years and soon packing my bags. I wouldn’t like to see NCT die with me,” he said. But Kahigiriza said, “Over 50 youth organised and wrote a letter to us expressing their commitment to our cause. They also requested to meet Prince John Barigye,” adding that the meeting would be arranged.
