SEVEN Kenyan teams will participate in the Abraham Lincoln international basketball tournamnet scheduled for Kampala on December 10-16.

Kenya Commercial Bank's Kencom Lions and Lioness will lead Kenya's challenge in the event. Other teams that will feature in the week-long event are Nairobi combined (men and women), Wild cats(men) and Mombasa combined (men and women). KCB teams are busy with preparations and their officials yesterday exuded confidence that they will excel in the ninth edition of the championship. r RHINO Athletics Club yesterday received a sponsorship boost of two mini buses from the principle of Hill Side School Jimmy Pack towards the organisation of this year’s 9th edition Abraham Lincoln International basketball tournament set for December 10-16. Rhino operations director Ronnie Kalule while speaking to The New Vision said “we are happy for the offer and the problem of transporting teams during the tournament is solved.” Kalule also called upon other sponsors they have approached and those they have not to come in and offer what they can so as to meet sh114m budget they have drawn for the tournament. Falcons and Nairobi Combined are the men’s and ladies defending champions respectively. Miracle won the boy’s junior category title last year. Meanwhile, Kenyan top official Peter Ochara is in Mombasa to get confirmation from Mombasa Combined if they are to participate. He also assured the organisers that the Nations tourney in Dar es salaam would end in time. ends
