The positions below exist and we are looking for qualified and competent Ugandans to fill them. Administrative Assistant/Secretary The Administrative Assistant/Secretary is responsible for the management of the front office of EC Human Rights and Good Governance Programme. Specific Duties: (a) Maintaining good filing systems for in-coming and out-going mail. (b) Drafting correspondences and receiving in-coming calls. (c) Answering enquiries on EC Human Rights and Good Governance Programme. (d) Reception and directing of visitors. (e) Making petty cash payments and maintaining the records properly. (f) Preparing LPOs, requisition for payments and receiving goods delivered. (g) Delivery of checks being paid out and getting the receipts from the payee for acknowledgement. (h) Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor. Qualification: (a) A UDBS or (b) A certificate of Advanced Secretarial Course and (c) At least 3 years working experience in related positions with reputable organisations. 2. Driver The Driver is responsible for driving the vehicle and ensuring the safety of the travelers. Specific Duties: (a) Driving and ensuring safety of staff and visitors of EC Human Rights and Good Governance, (b) Cleaning the Programme vehicle and ensuring that it is in a good working condition, (c) Routine checking of the condition and tools of the vehicles, (d) Licensing and servicing of the vehicles promptly, (e) Filling mileage & maintenance sheet and fuel refill of the vehicles, (f) Delivery of mail and checks whenever necessary, (g) Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications: (a) At least an Ordinary Level certificate with passes in English and Mathematics, (h) A clean valid driving permit, (c) Continuous 5 years driving experience preferably with NGOs or UN bodies and (d) Good spoken English and Kiswahili are desirable. All positions need hard working persons, willingness to work extra hours whenever required and personality full of initiatives. Both positions will be responsible to the Programme Administrator and are on 2 years contract with possibility of renewal for one year upon satisfactory performance.
