By Nathan Etengu ABOUT six people, five of them women, are believed to have been killed when Pokot warriors attacked the Matheniko community at Loputuk on Sunday night. The attack was reportedly to avenge an earlier one where the Bokora rustled an unspecified number of cattle from the Pokot recently. The Moroto Assistant Resident District Comissioner, Mr. Andrew Keem, confirmed the incidents but said he had not yet received full details of the casualties. The raid came barely ten days after state minister for Karamoja affairs, Peter Lokeris’s peace meeting with the Pokot, Pian and Bokora pastoralists. The meeting held at Amudat trading centre, was attended by the Kenyan Pokot pastoralists from West Pokot district in Kenya.
