Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment Directorate of Water Development Support to New Rural Towns Water and Sanitation Project -- Invitation for Bids

Contract No: DWD/SNRT/C/07/2001 1. The Government of the Republic of Uganda has provided funds towards the cost of Support to New Rural Towns Water and Sanitation Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Construction of Bombo Town Water Supply system under contract number DWD/SNRT/C/07/2001. 2. The Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment of P. O. Box 7096, Kampala invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for furnishing the necessary labour, materials, equipment and services for construction of Bombo Town water supply system comprising of: * 6.0 Km long, 160m ND uPVC transmission pumping main * 200m3 steel service reservoir * 5-110mm ND HDPE distribution system, 8.5 Km long * 10 No. Public standpipes. 3. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the Directorate of Water Development, P.O. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address. 4. Bids shall be valid for a period of 119 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by a security of Uganda Shillings 20,000,000 or its equivalent in a convertible currency, and shall be delivered to: Chairman, Contracts Committee Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment Century House, 2nd Floor- Room 3, Parliament Avenue P.O. Box 7096, Kampala on or before 10:00 a.m December 18th, 2001, at which time they will be opened in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend.
