Applications in triplicate should be submitted to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 88, Kamuli NOT later than 7/12/2001 on ESC Form No. 3 (1989) or PSC Form No. 3 (1972) obtainable from the Secretary, District Service Commission Kamuli, or from Secretaries of other District Service Commissions. Applications should be accompanied by a CV. Applicants must be Ugandans. In case of teachers, applicants must be qualified Gr. III teachers. Applicants already in service must route their applications through their Heads of Departments (Chief Administrative Officers) of their districts in which they are serving. Certified photocopies of academic certificates and other supporting documents plus 2 passport size photographs must accompany the application forms. 1. Post: Education Assistant Gr. III No. of Vacancies: 645 Salary Scale: U7 Qualifications: UCE plus a Gr. III Teaching Certificate. Duties: - Responsible to the Headmaster. - Classroom teaching. 2. Post: Health Inspector No. of vacancies: 1 Salary Scale: U5c Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - A Diploma in Environmental Health Science from a recognised institution. - Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council. Duties: - Carry out Environmental Health activities in the field and submit periodic reports to the Senior Health Inspector. 3. Post: Comprehensive Nurse No. of vacancies: 3 Salary Scale: U5c Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Must be registered Nurse and a member of the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council. - Must be double trained at registered level. - Should have knowledge on Management Counselling. Duties: - To attend doctors/clinical officers ward rounds. - To participate in the organisation and management of wards/units. 4. Post: Clinical Officer No. of vacancies: 2 Salary Scale: U5c Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Must have a National Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health. - Must be registered with Allied Health Professionals Council. Duties: - To diagnose, treat and ensure proper management of patients. - Refer complicated cases to the Senior Clinical/Medical Officer. - Adhere to professional code of conduct. 5. Post: Enrolled Midwife No. of vacancies: 6 Salary Scale: U7 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Must have Enrolled Midwife Certificate. - Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council. - Should have a patient-focused approach and pleasant personality. Duties: - Participate in a continuous nursing coverage on wards/units by receiving reports and effectively handing over to in-coming shifts. - Ensure that aseptic technique is adhered to in carrying out deliveries. 6. Post: Health Assistant G. II No. of vacancies: 1 Salary Scale: U7 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Must have a certificate in Environmental Health Science from a recognised institution. - Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council. Duties: - Participate in Community Based Environmental Health activities. - Implement Environmental Health Act, Regulations and by-laws. - Adhere to Professional Code of Conduct. 7. Qualifications: - Must have Enrolled Nurse Certificate and must be registered with the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council. - Should have a patient-focused approach and pleasant personality. Duties: - Participate in a continuous nursing coverage on wards/units by receiving reports and effectively handing over to in-coming shifts. - Carry out observations, keep proper records and ensure their safe custody. 8. Post: Nursing Aide No. of Vacancies: 10 Salary Scale: USS1 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: ‘O’ level Certificate as a minimum. - Shold have a patient-focused approach and pleasant personality. Duties: To kep patients comfortable and ensure a healthy environment of the wards/units. - Receive patients, register admissions and discharges. 9. Post: Assistant Secretary/Clerk to Council No. of vacancies: 1 Salary Scale: U5b-4 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Arts or Social Sciences from a recognised university. Duties: - Responsible to Chief Administrative Officer. - Overall Administrator of Council office. - Make estimates for Council office and control the Council vote. - Draw Council calendar and agenda on consultation with District Speaker. 10. Post: Fisheries Officers No. of vacancies: 3 Salary Scale: U5b-4 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - An Honours degree in one of the following: Botany, Zoology or Natural Science, Food Science and Food Technology from a recognised university. Duties: - Report to District Fisheries Officer. - Carry out duties relating to fish marketing and processing, fishing in ponds, lake fisheries and acquaculture development. - Co-ordinating community-based activities of eradicating the water hyacinth. 11. Post: Veterinary Officers No. of vacancies: 2 Salary Scale: U5a-3 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: -Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from a recognised university. Duties: - Responsible to the District Veterinary Officer, attending to sick animals and general husbandry. - Control of livestock diseases and their movements. - Meat inspection and public health and animal production. 12. Post: Agricultural Officers No. of vacancies: 12 Salary Scale: U5a-3 Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science Agriculture from a recognised university. - Masters of Science or Diploma in a relevant field is an added advantage. Duties: - Various agricultural activities and assignments including tendering advice to all categories of farmers on methods of crop production and harvest, storage and soil conservation, disease and pest control. - Administering agricultural units, farm institutions. DEPARTMENT: FINANCE 13. Post: Senior Internal Auditor (Re-advertised) No. of vacancies: 1 Salary Scale: U3 (Shs 385,348 - 406,519 p.m.). Age: 25-45 years. Qualifications: - B. Com Degree with a bias in Accounting or Auditing plus at least three years practical experience or ACCA or any of the professional accounting bodies at Part P IV of the finals or other applicable finals recognised by Public Service. Duties: - To head Internal Audit Department of the District. - Carry out routine inspection checks in all administrative units. - Make final reports and returns to the district. - Any other duties as may be assigned by the Council.
