By Daniel Saire KAMPALA businessmen Sudhir Ruparelia and Bob Kabonero have offered Kevin Aliro sh6m to boost his bid for the FUFA presidency. Sudhir gave Aliro sh5m which he won at Kampala Casino while the Casino’s proprietor Kabonero added sh1m. Aliro, who is also SC Villa manager, said the donation was a sign to show that people were willing to contribute towards football development but lacked trust in the current administrators. Abbas Kaawaase, Michael Okiror and Twaha Kakaire are also vying to oust embattled Denis Obua in the December 1 polls. Aliro however, said he would not use the money to buy votes. “It would be morally wrong to buy votes like some of my opponents are doing. I have the qualities and delegates who want to change Ugandan football will vote for me,” he said. “I am considering donating it to either Friends of Football (FOF) or paying school fees for disadvantaged players,” said Aliro. Aliro, who is contesting on the moral ticket, said he would not work with Obua if he won another term. He singled out Kaawaase as the only other suitable person for the FUFA top job. ends
