SIR—I wish to comment oy your article of November 15 entitled “Destroy enemy threats, Kiyonga directs RDCs.” It is not true that divisions in Kasese district are caused by the demand for a Bakonzo kingdom. That cannot be the reason for the decline of the NRM’s popularity. During the Amin and Obote regimes there was demand for a Bakonzo Kingdom but there were no divisions as is the case today. Those regimes were not as popular as the movement. The Bakonzo in Bundibugyo and Kabarole have no divisions yet demand for a Kingdom. Kiyonga boasts that Kasese has four RDCs. that will not solve the district’s problems Instead it is a disadvantage because it will increase the taxpayer’s burden. The RDCs and Kiyonga himself earn a lot of money. He calls kingdom agitators enemies and this is creating more divisions as these people are the majority. He should keep his integrity as an MP, minister NPC and doctor. He should strive to unite people and advise the RDCs not to be partisan We should fight poverty, hunger, ignorance, disease, and unemployment instead of trying to outdo each other. Musoka Asanairi Kasese
