Thom top with 31kg

By Phillip Corry CHARLES Thom, Keagan Harcourt, Isabelle De Mello and Jimmy Whitworth were the best anglers and sailor last Sunday at Entebbe Sailing Club. Thom was the best angler, catching a 31.5-kilogram Nile Perch while Keagan Harcourt won the junior category catching a 14.5 kilogram perch. The top lady’s catch was by Isabelle de Mello with a 19.5 kilogram Perch. The Helsman sailing trophy was won by Jimmy Whitworth with Russel Barnes and Team Kristy Mitchell and Live van Depaal finishing third. The fishing contest attracted contestants from South Africa, UK and Ecuador and was sponsored by Bell Lager with a total of 23 contestants. A feature of all fishing contests run at the Entebbe Sailing Club is the awareness of the need to conserve small fish and allow them to grow.
