LOCAL government minister Bidandi Ssali has said Ssebaana Kizito is the best among the four candidates vying for the Kampala mayoral seat.

By Hamis Kaheru LOCAL government minister Bidandi Ssali has said Ssebaana Kizito is the best among the four candidates vying for the Kampala mayoral seat. “If Nyombi Tembo was standing, my vote would go to him. But I know all those who are standing and I will give my vote to Ssebaana,” Bidandi told The New Vision on telephone yesterday. Asked why he would pick Tembo, Bidandi said, “I trust him.” Tembo, a former Movement chairman for Kampala, is the Busia Resident District Commissioner. Bidandi denied saying during a CBS radio talk show on Friday that he would campaign for Ssebaana. “The question was clear. He (the presenter) asked me, “Who do you give your vote?” and I asked, “Who is standing?’ Then he said Naava Nabagesera, Wasswa Ziritwawula, Ssebaana and Wasswa Biriggwa. I said I have no problem with Ssebaana,” Bidandi said. “I said I will give him (Ssebaana) my vote. That is my personal vote, but it doesn’t mean that I am going to campaign for him,” he said. Bidandi said his support for a multi-partyist was not a contradiction or betrayal of the Movement. “We are under the Movement and elections are based on individual merit. This is what I have told people since local government elections started. Ends
