By Vision Reporter THE Senior Presidential Adviser on Defence and Security, Lt. Gen. David Tinyefuza, has invited to Kampala Congolese rebel leaders in a bid to diffuse the wrangles and ethnic clashes in northeastern Congo. Security sources said yesterday that those invited are the leaders of the RCD-Kisangani Liberation Movement, Prof. Ernest Wamba dia Wamba, Mbusa Nyamwisi and John Tibasima Ateenyi. President Yoweri Museveni over the weekend condemned the ethnic clashes and blamed those perpetrating it. Museveni appointed Tinyefuza and the state minister for regional co-operation, Col. Kahinda Otafiire to follow up events in Congo. Mbusa and Tibasima on November 20 proclaimed themselves RCD-Kisangani president and vice-president respectively and immediately ethnic clashes between Hema/Gegere and Lendu/Ngiti erupted in Bunia resulting in the death of over 80 people. The rebel proclamation and subsequent capture of Bunia, was in defiance of an arrangement that was reached at a meeting held between them and Tinyefuza and Otafiire. Under the arrangement, the Congolese Liberation Front (FLC), was to control and administer the northeastern Congo territory stretching from Bunia and Bafwasende to Isiro and the Equatoria Province; while Mbusa was to control the Beni-Butembo sector. By yesterday, Mbusa and Roger Lumbala, leader of the RCD-National rebel group, had arrived in Kampala. Sources said Tibasima was expected today. Wamba is said to have delegated former governor and deputy governor for the troubled Ituri province, Padoro Uringi and Joseph Eneku respectively. Ends
