Uganda 2nd in Jamhuri cup

UGANDA made a last-minute entry to finish second in the four-team Jamhuri badminton event which ended here on Sunday, reports Reuben Olita in Nairobi. Fielding a team of three men and a lady, Uganda finished with nine points behind Nairobi who emerged winners with 12 points to their credit. Edwin Ekiring and Rupa Devani came near to clinching the mixed doubles title for Uganda before they fell 1-7, 7-4, 7-4, 7-4) to Mombasa's Anna Maina and Fred Gituku. ends
