Nairobi sends 700 for inter-University games

ACTION returns to Makerere University today when the East African Inter University games kick off at the main sports grounds.

The biennial games, which have attracted 23 regional institutions of higher learning, will officially be opened by MUK Vice Chancellor, Professor John Sebuwufu. The games will feature over 13 disciplines to be played at different grounds. Namboole stadium, will host the final of the soccer competitions. MTN injected sh22m into renovation of university venues for the games. Meanwhile, more than 700 Kenyan University students left for Kampala yesterday ready for the games. Egerton University of Kenya hosted the last edition of the games in December 1999. Kenya will be represented by five universities.
