UTL opens centre in Mbarara

UGANDA Telecom Limited (UTL) has opened up a regional customer-care centre for the western region.

The centre, estimated at about US$15,000 dollars, is the first customer care office of its kind in Mbarara town. UTL Telecel marketing services manager Aldrine Nsubuga, said, “Its amazing to see records indicating that after four days within which Mango mobile phones reached Mbarara, over 300 people have already been connected before the official opening.” Speaking to Mbarara based journalists on Saturday, Nsubuga said Uganda Telecom will officially launch its Mango cellular network provider in western and eastern Uganda on December 22, 2001. “On the same day, we shall launch our network in Mbale and Tororo,” he said.
