Applications should be submitted in triplicate to the Secretary, Education Service Commission, on ESC Form No. 3 (1998) not later than 11th January, 2002. The forms are obtainable from the Education Service Commission Offices, Farmers' House Kampala, Ministry of Education Headquarters and District Service Commission offices. Handwritten applications, in triplicate, will also be accepted. Applications should bear the Post and Reference Number of the vacancy. Serving Officers/Teachers should route their applications through their Heads of Department/Institution who must be informed of the closing date, to avoid delay. Those serving outside the Traditional Public Service/Unified Teaching Service, including Local Governments, are required to give 2 referees, one of whom should be the current employer. Copies of relevant documents should be attached to the applications. Eligible candidates, whether they have been through the validation exercise or not, are free to apply. Incumbents in caretaker or acting capacity are encouraged to apply. Applications that do not meet the minimum requirements will be disregarded. 1. POST NO. 1 HEADTEACHER 'A' LEVEL BOARDING SECONDARY SCHOOL (GIRLS) - Ref: HRM/70/185/41 No. of vacancies: 2 - Salary Scale: Uganda Government Scale U1 - Status: Reports to the Commissioner for Secondary Education. - Qualifications: First Degree and a Diploma in Education from a recognized University/Institution. A Master's Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage. - Experience: Applicants must be women with a minimum of 15 years teaching experience, 5 of which should be at the level of Headteacher "O" Level Boarding or Deputy Headteacher 'A' Level Boarding Secondary School or equivalent education institution. They should possess demonstrable communication, inter-personal, leadership and managerial skills. - Duties: 1. Head and overall in charge of the management, administration and day to day running of the institution. 2. Collection and management of finances of the institution. 3. Admission of students in conformity with existing policies. 4. Responsible for the general discipline of students, their welfare and academic performance. 5. Management of staff in the institution as well as maintaining the academic and professional performance of the institution. 6.
