‘Pearl of Africa’

SIR— I wish Petro would investigate its money used in the Pearl of Africa rally. AAU simply failed miserably. Having worked in their just concluded rally, I would not fancy being associated to any of them. Every official had individualistic aims, and just as the observer commented, in the end no one could account for anything. There were counter accusations on who embezzled the money. Many of us who did the most work went unpaid with promises that the sponsor would release money. Seeing such big people acting so immorally is a disgrace to us the young ones. With all the blazing sun and heavy rains on day two, we marshalls were paid a mere sh5000, then the chief marshall disappeared. I’m glad FMU now has the reigns and FIA made a decision that was actually a voice for the disgruntled. Noel Kangulimire Rally Marshall
