Kamuli Auditor Netted

By Robert Kanusu Police in Kamuli have arrested former district auditor, Richard Waiswa, for allegedly giving false information to Police that led to wastage of public resources. The Officer in-Charge CID, Habib Lagoni, said Waiswa was arrested yesterday in the morning. “It is true we have arrested him on orders of the Regional Police Commander, Charles Kimali,” Lagoni said. It is alleged that on December 3, Waiswa called the Police to report that suspected thugs travelling in a saloon car reg. no 156 UCM belonging to Badru Watongola, planned to rob him. Police arrested Watongola but released him on December 6 after finding no evidence against him. Lagoni said Waiswa had been transferred to Jinja but Kimali said Waiswa was at large. Ends
