The New Vision and Musicraft Hire Purchase today launched a 10-week competition for their clients called the 'Winner Takes it Home,' reports John Odyek. Mr. William Pike, The New Vision managing director, said on Friday that the competition would be exciting and prizes would include top quality pieces of furniture. "The big issue is, we want to have an exciting competition for our readers. Our readers like them and we also like them," he said. Pike, who is also The New Vision Editor-in-Chief, said, "I urge upcountry readers to complete their entries and send them as soon as possible to get into the draws." He said because 60% of the sales are in Kampala, upcountry readers have often thought that most prizes were for Kampala readers. In the competition, a reader has to fill in entry forms in The New Vision and send or post them to The New Vision offices, agents or deposit them at Musicraft Hire Purchase. There will be weekly prize draws and the grand draw for the top prizes will be next year January 12. The 'Winner Takes it Home' comes six months after another competition called 'Win with Winners,' sponsored by many top companies whose top prizes included a Ford Bantam pick-up truck. Mr. Sujesh Gadhia, the general manager Musicraft Hire Purchase, said the promotion would heighten awareness of the products and services offered by the company. "The hire purchase sales will be highlighted more during this promotion," he said. Gadhia said when customers drop their entries at the Musicraft showroom on Kampala Road opposite the City Square, they would have a chance to look at the products on offer. He said they were confident of the promotion. Musicraft, a Kara family business has been trading for 45 years. Gadhia said the family runs 10 other businesses, including a duty free shop at Entebbe, a forex bureau in Kampala and a wines and spirits shop in Kampala. David Waweru, The New Vision sales and marketing manager, said the competition was a Christmas gift to New Vision readers. "Readers have a chance to furnish a house just by buying a New Vision newspaper." Ends.
