THE Rukungiri Development Committee (RDC) will on November 4 host presidential aspirant Col. Kiiza Besigye (retired) to a reception in Rukungiri, reports Milton Olupot. The Publicity Secretary RDC mobilisers committee, Robert Ndyomugenyi, yesterday said the reception was meant to welcome Besigye and to reintegrate him in civilian life after long service in the Government and Army." Ndyomugenyi said the bash to which all Rukungiri people and well-wishers are invited is also to thank the Government for the welcome accorded to their delegation when they were in Kampala to discuss the Besigye issue. Besigye, who survived court martialing for utterances he made and were branded as anti-Government, was discharged from the Army a week ago, after the RDC resisted the court martial process. The former minister and National Political Commissar on Saturday declared his intention to run for presidency next year. He fell out with the Movement when he criticised the system in the media, calling it opportunistic and undemocratic. Ends.
