Hassan Mubiru struck four goals at Namboole as millennium champions SC Villa steamrollered another relegation material Arua Municipal Council in the one-sided affair. KCC who had been front runners for the title until they failed to check pressure from Villa notched the huge victory after double strikes from midfielder Morley Byekwaso and striker Davis Odowa. Midfielder Jamil Kyambadde, defender Richard Malinga and left winger Kefa Kisala completed the rout with one each. KCC leaped into second place with 67 points with a game to go against Arua on Thursday at Nakivubo. They are two points ahead of Express who completed their season. KCC went into recess leading 2-0 with goals from Byekwaso and Kyambadde before purposeless Health let loose the defence as the Kampala team pumped in five goals in the match that was live on WBS Television. WBS Television was testing its equipment ahead of its live coverage of the 2000 CECAFA senior challenge cup. FUFA has awarded WBS TV and UTV rights to telecast Cranes matches. At Namboole, Mubiru struck in the 16th, 52nd, 63rd and 84th minutes to take his tally to 23 goals - four behind striking partner Andrew Mukasa who did not play due to injury. Hussein Mbalangu also joined Mubiru in the scoring spree heading in the third goal off a Nestroy Kizito curling free kick in the dull match dominated by Villa. Mubiru would have toppled Mukasa from the top scorers' chart but wasted many glaring scoring chances. Tomorrow army side Simba hosts champions Villa at Nakivubo while FUFA president Denis Obua's Police and Arua battle in Friday's last match of the Nile Special Super League at Nakivubo. Ends.
