Nothing for free-Addo

By Vision Reporters A ROW has erupted between the organisers of the CECAFA tournament and Uganda Television over rights to telecast matches involving the two Ugandan teams. CECAFA boss Farah Addo on Saturday stopped UTV from telecasting the opening match between Cranes and Ethiopia, saying they had no telecast rights. But James Opoka, the alternate coordinator at UTV, said he had entered into an agreement with a CECAFA official to pay sh5m for rights. Opoka said they made an initial payment of sh2.5m that was received by CECAFA life member Kezekia Musisi, who issued them with a receipt. Opoka said Centenary Rural Trust Bank had sponsored the telecasts. r FUFA collected sh12m in Saturday's Challenge Cup opener at Nakivubo stadium. Fans stayed away following an afternoon rain, forcing organisers to cut gate charges. Ends.
