By Douglas Mazune LEAGUE champions Sadolin Power's playmaker Wilbrod Oketcho was last night voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this year. Oketcho replaces Falcons two-time MVP Stephen Omwony who is widely believed to be the best player of his generation. He was instrumental in the playoff final that saw Power end Falcons two-year dominance of the league. Oketcho beat Julius Wapera 6-1 in the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) technical committee polls. The New Vision and The Monitor sports desks voted. Lady Bucks' Lillian Letaru who propelled her side to the championship beat Ali Mavita to the ladies title. FUBA organising secretary Robert Ndamagye said the league champions and MVPs would be crowned on Saturday at Lugogo indoor stadium. The ceremony will be held after Power face FUBA All Stars in a season ending classic. The award ceremony comes a week before the Rhino Athletics Club organised Abe Linc VIII International, set for the floodlights at YMCA Wandegeya, that has attracted top teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. Ends.
