"(The Foreign Ministry) has decided to offer in memory and in honour of the deceased doctor (Matthew Lukwiya), 10 scholarships for young Ugandan doctors for post-graduate specialisations in Italian hospitals," the Ministry said in a statement. Lukwiya, the medical superintendent at Lacor, died on Tuesday after a six-day battle with the Ebola virus. Lukwiya had spearheaded his country's two-month long efforts to combat the disease.
