The Electoral Commission has asked aspiring presidential candidates to present their academic qualifications to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to obtain clearance certificates.

The Electoral Commission has asked aspiring presidential candidates to present their academic qualifications to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to obtain clearance certificates. In a statement issued on Friday, the commission chairman, Aziz Kasujja, said the commission would not accept a nomination paper from any aspirant without a clearance certificate from UNEB. "The certificate from UNEB and not an aspiring candidate's academic documents shall be required," the release read in part. The commission has set the nominations date for presidential candidates for January 8 and 9, 2001. Ends
