AN Asian man, who wanted to have his nails polished, recently cheated a boy of his hard earned money at Kabalagala.
The man, after buying bananas, went and sat on a bench outside a salon. He then called a nail polish hawker to come and varnish his nails. The man chose a bright red polish.
The boy started off by manicuring the man's nails. A small crowd of street boys gathered to witness the strange scene.
Now a little nervous, the boy clipped some skin off the man's toes. This earned him a kick and a barrage of angry words from the Asian.
After much pleading, the boy was allowed to continue with his work. The man insisted on three coats of varnish.
He did this three times because every time he put on his sandals, the varnish rubbed off. The last time, the boy had to blow dry the nails with his breath.
When time for payment came, he was given sh500. He refused it. The man threw the coin on the ground and walked away.
Without wasting any time, one of the street boys quickly pounced on the coin and took off.
The boy followed the Asian man asking for payment, but in vain.
To make matters worse, the salon owner barred the boy from operating from her salon again, because his customer had littered the place with banana peels.
The boy begged for mercy and swore never to paint the nails of men again since they caused bad luck.
Ends.
