THE Uganda Federal Alliance presidential candidate, Betty Kamya, has been discharged from International Hospital Kampala where she had been admitted last week.

Kamya, who underwent surgery for intestinal failure, said she was feeling much better.

Kamya, the only female presidential candidate, was discharged at around 11:40am, accompanied by party officials.

“I value life more than anything else. I will not hold any more rallies like the doctor advised me. I will only address my last rally on the last day of campaigns in Mukono district.”

Kamya said most of the work was done since she had already campaigned in 100 districts before falling sick, the rest would be done through the media.

She thanked Kizza Besigye and his wife Winnie Byanyima for showing her love while in hospital. “They sent me a get well message with a bouquet of flowers. I wish them the best.” Kamya said.

She hopes to win the race with 55%, saying Ugandans have understood the importance of the federal system of governance.

On the Afrobarometer polls, she said it was only a joke and doubted the methods used to come up with such results. “Those polls were not qualitatively done to portray genuine results. Let us wait for elections next week,” Kamya said.
